eWeLink has supported the Matter Light Sensor since version V5.11. Users can view real-time illuminance and examine historical readings in daily, weekly, monthly and biannual views.
Create scenes from illuminance readings
Live light measurements can trigger scenes based on lux value ranges. Historical data helps refine those rules to suit the space. Applications include:
- Lighting efficiency: Set indoor lights to dim when daylight is sufficient or brighten as evening approaches.
- Indoor comfort: Close smart curtains when light exceeds a chosen threshold to help keep the home cool, or open them in lower light to admit more daylight.
- Greenhouse control: Use current and historical readings to automate shading or supplemental lighting for plant-growing conditions.
Other Matter devices supported by eWeLink
Matter support began in eWeLink V5.0 and has expanded through subsequent updates. The supported device types offer the following uses:
| Supported devices | Example applications |
|---|---|
| Matter Plug | Schedule devices such as coffee makers to switch on and off, limiting unnecessary consumption during inactive hours. |
| Matter Light (with dimmable, cool-warm, and colorful capabilities) | Choose dimmed warm lighting for movie nights or colorful lighting for parties. |
| Matter Bridge | Bring devices such as Zigbee plugs and lights into the Matter ecosystem and manage connected devices through the eWeLink App. NSPanel Pro must be updated to version 2.4 or later for this functionality. |
| Matter Color Temperature Light, Matter On/Off Light Switch | Tailor lighting to the activity, such as bright, cool light for studying or warm light for relaxing. |
| Matter Temperature and Humidity Sensor, Matter Door Sensor | Regulate air conditioning using temperature readings, or monitor door activity for security while away. |
| Matter Occupancy Sensor, Matter Generic Switch | Dim lights automatically in an empty room or use the Generic Switch to control several devices. |
| Matter On/Off Light, Matter Dimmable Light | Control lighting across rooms, including switching lights off remotely after leaving or dimming them at bedtime. |
The Matter Light Sensor addition in V5.11 extends this device support with light-responsive automation and historical data for adjusting scenes.
